Park Overview:
Under the stewardship of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the Daisy Hill Conservation Park stands as a significant gem within Logan’s landscape.
With its serene and verdant ambiance, the park presents an ideal setting for family picnics and leisurely strolls through nature.
A highlight of this reserve is the Daisy Hill Koala Centre, an educational hub devoted to koalas. The center features an expansive outdoor koala viewing enclosure and an array of engaging interactive exhibits.
History
Originated by the Queensland Government as a specialized koala educational establishment, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre welcomed the public in 1995, and subsequently underwent substantial renovations in both 2009 and 2018. Enveloped by a grove of eucalyptus trees and boasting an expansive outdoor koala enclosure alongside numerous interactive exhibits, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre offers an exceptional avenue for comprehending koalas and their preservation.
Daisy Hill Koala Centre Operational Hours:
Every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Please note that the center will be inaccessible on Good Friday, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Group Reservations:
For groups exceeding 20 individuals who wish to experience the Daisy Hill Koala Centre, prior bookings are imperative. The center accommodates self-guided group excursions from Monday to Sunday, spanning 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Due to our commitment to a COVID Safe Plan, group programs, activities, and Wildlife Officer presentations are temporarily suspended.
To arrange bookings for school or community groups, kindly reach out to us via email at koala.centre@des.qld.gov.au.
It’s important to note that group reservations do not incur any charges.
Exploring the Centre:
Engaging Koala Keeper Talks Held daily at 2:00 PM Partake in a complimentary session where our adept koala keepers share insights while offering nourishing eucalyptus leaves to our resident koalas. This timing coincides with heightened koala activity.
Observe our resident koalas from distinct vantage points on the dual-level viewing boardwalks within the Daisy Hill Koala Centre.
Kindly note that visitors are advised against attempting to interact with or touch the koalas.
Meet Our Female Koalas:
Each of our female koalas boasts a wild origin, having been born in the natural habitat. Unfortunately, they encountered varying illnesses caused by the chlamydia bacteria. While these conditions were effectively treated, the aftermath of the chlamydial infection rendered them incapable of reproduction. When you visit the center, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into the narratives of these resilient female koalas.
Featured Koalas: Molly, Kyra, and Aretha.

While numerous paths are open to both bikes and horses, two exclusive trails are favored by families, especially those with kids. One, spanning 450 meters, is wheelchair-friendly per disability laws. These walks, near Daisy Hill Koala Centre, offer a refreshing Melaleuca Wetland journey and an 800-meter path through open Eucalypt forest.
During my visit, the boardwalk was unavailable because it had sustained damage, specifically at the end of July 2023
