Each winter, my partner and I escape Melbourne’s chilly weather for a week in Queensland to visit my sister and explore the local attractions. The flight from Melbourne to Brisbane takes about two hours, and the winter weather in Queensland is ideal, with mild temperatures and low humidity. We particularly enjoy the refreshing coolness of the mornings and evenings. During our stay, we took a scenic coastal drive, discovering beautiful spots and showing my sister places she hadn’t yet explored since moving to Queensland for work. We don’t make plans in advance—each night, we decide what to do the next day based on the weather
On the 27th July 2023 we had a relaxing morning and just walked around my sisters area then visited the Daisy Hill Koala Centre after lunch, then we drove into Kangaroo Point to have a bbq dinner along the river and watch the sunset and the city light up.
