After departing Port Macquarie on our two-week road trip through New South Wales, Australia, we made a stops at Tacking Point Lighthouse, Sea Acres National Park Rainforest, Burley Point, Rocky Beach Lookout, Flagstaff Hill Lookout and Smoky Cape Lighthouse where we saw whales 2km from shore and they were very active with breaching and flapping there flippers. Then we drove to Captain Cook Lookout at Nambucca Heads with amazing views, in the right hand side there is a lookout that is wheelchair accessible off the green grass area. Then there is another lookout just up the road called Rotary Lookout which is also wheel chair accessible. The day we visited was the 8th October 2024 and it was really windy. A couple people spotted whales in the distance but you could only see there blow hole and they weren’t active just swimming past.

The Gumbaynggirr people shared a common language, traditions, and sacred sites, but each clan had its own distinct identity. The women played a significant role in uniting the clans through marriage, as they were expected to marry outside their own jagun (clan) but within the Gumbaynggirr tribe.
Today, we stand on the land of the Gumbaynggirr people—a proud, strong, and loyal community with a deep connection to this beautiful land.
