We did a 2 week road trip up to Queensland from the 27th September to 9th October 2024 for a wedding and stayed 3 nights in Moss Vale, New South Wales, Australia to visit the waterfalls. I recommend staying a couple nights to see the waterfalls.

We left our Moss Vale accommodation at 8:45am and drove for 45 minutes to Minnamurra Falls, with foggy conditions for much of the journey. Always use your headlights in foggy areas to ensure visibility for other drivers. Once we arrived at the waterfall car park it wasn’t foggy and it was perfect weather for waterfall photos and videos.

On our way back from visiting Lower Minnamurra Falls, we stopped at Jamberoo Lookout since the fog earlier had obscured the view during our arrival.

Is the water heated at Jamberoo?

Rapid River stretches 240 meters in length and 5 meters in width, powered by four pumping stations that circulate the water at a speed of 1.2 meters per second. It holds a total water volume of one megalitre (1,000,000 litres), with the temperature maintained at 26 degrees for guests’ comfort.

Do you need to know how do you swim to go to Jamberoo?

Please note that Jamberoo Action Park features several deep pools and dams. Extreme caution is advised if you or a child in your care is a non-swimmer.

Why is Jamberoo called Jamberoo?

As of the 2021 census, Jamberoo had a population of 1,910. The town’s name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘track’. It is famous for the Jamberoo Action Park, the Jamberoo Hotel (a local pub), and its dairy-farming community. The area is also known as the birthplace of the Australian Illawarra Shorthorn cattle breed.

Can you bring food into Jamberoo?

Every year, we make the trip from Sydney to Jamberoo with three families. It’s an excellent spot with plenty of free parking, and you can bring your own food (just pack the esky!). Please note that glass containers are not permitted, and they will check your esky at the entrance.

Is Raging Waters or Jamberoo better?

I personally prefer Jamberoo because of attractions like the toboggans and mini golf. They added a new section about a year ago, catching up on adult slides, which they had fallen behind on compared to Raging Waters. However, depending on your location, getting down to some areas can be a bit of a trek.

Does Jamberoo have a wave pool?

This is one of Australia’s biggest wave pools, featuring its own beach and themed environment. To enhance the coastal vibe, there’s even a lighthouse and lifeguard tower!
