After stopping at Norah Head Lighthouse and Budgewoi beach our third stop was Munmorah State Conservation Area where the owner at Lake Haven accommodation recommended. We chose to stop at Frazer Beach and Snapper Point, there are more places to visit but we only had time to do the two.
Frazer beach had sealed roads and the best national park roads we have driven on so far with a lot of sealed roads, there were 2 car parks with a one way road and a toilet block. You do have to pay $8 to visit this national park but it’s well worth it, and the money goes towards maintaining the park. Lifeguards patrol the beach only during the summer holidays and Easter, there is no lifesaving service for the rest of the year at this beach so be careful of the strong currents, unexpected big waves, with shallow water and submerged rocks and a sudden drop off at the cliffs. For a safer option, consider taking a dip in the nearby calm lagoon. There is a rescue tube at the bottom of the steps if someone is in trouble and you are a strong swimmer you can take the tube out to them and get the person to put it around their chest. Do not attempt to help someone if you aren’t a strong swimmer as you will end up needing rescuing as well.

Why Visit Frazer Beach?
Frazer Beach is known for its pristine stretch of golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and rugged coastal scenery. The beach is sheltered by rocky headlands, making it a relatively safe spot for swimming, especially in the patrolled area during peak seasons. Whether you’re looking to relax by the shore, explore marine life in tidal rock pools, or simply enjoy the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs, Frazer Beach offers something for everyone.
The day we visited which was the 5th Ocotober 2024 was school holidays for New South Wales, Australia, which we didn’t know when planning our vacation but it worked out really well for this holiday because the places we stopped at weren’t busy like Frazer Beach. I recomend when planning a vacation to check when the school holidays are because its usually a really busy time to travel. I love visiting places that aren’t as well know and there aren’t crowds its nice to be at a place with only a few people there.
